Childbirth Classes

Saturdays, 10a-12p virtual on zoom

"If you don’t know your options, you don’t have any."
- Diana Korte & Roberta Scaer
(A Good Birth, A Safe Birth)

As you prepare for the birth of your baby, one important step is choosing which childbirth education class to take. The type of class you take will have a great impact on the expectations you will have of your own birth. Ideally, the class will not only teach you what to expect in labor, but it should also inform you of the options you have throughout the process.

As an educator, I help expectant couples explore the variety of choices available to you to help ensure the process of birth is as rewarding as the outcome (a healthy mom and baby). In addition, my classes cover emotional and physiological changes during labor; hospital intervention; medical and non-medical pain coping options; and partner support techniques.

Childbirth classes at Sutter Maternity Center:
Due to COVID-19, all childbirth classes are now being held virtually. I’m currently teaching a 3-week series the first 3 Saturdays of every other month from 10am-noon, via Zoom.
